Adding Relationships
Use the Add Relationship view to add a new relationship. Relationships establish a one-to-many or many-to-one relationship between two entities, a parent and a child.
The system administrator and users with the appropriate role can access these features.
To add a relationship
- On the Navigation Bar, click Entity Manager.
- From the Entity Manager list, select the entity of the relationship you want to add .
- In the Relationships tab in the lower pane, click .
- Select the parent entity and join field.
- If necessary, click the Parent Entity and Join Field drop-down arrow and select the parent entity of the relationship.
By default the parent entity is the entity selected in the Entity Manager list. - In the list, select the field of the parent entity to be used as a join between the two tables.
- If necessary, click the Parent Entity and Join Field drop-down arrow and select the parent entity of the relationship.
- Click the Relationship drop-down arrow and select the type relationship, one-to-many (1:M) or many-to-one (M:1), between the two entities.
The default relationship is 1:M. - Select the child entity and join field.
- Click the Child Entity and Join Field drop-down arrow and select the child entity of the relationship.
- In the list, select the field of the child entity to be used as a join between the two tables.
- Click the Child Entity and Join Field drop-down arrow and select the child entity of the relationship.
