What Is Synchronization?
|
Remote users only |
If your company has Remote users who cannot connect to a central computing environment, such as a wide area network or on-line system, the changes they make to their database will be inconsistent with the information in their database and the Host database. Synchronization reconciles these changes, applies changes to the workgroup database, and creates files that remote clients can retrieve to update remote databases.
The exchange of files and update of the database performed during synchronization is not currently available over the web. Database changes made by web users are processed by synchronization as Network User changes, and are logged. To keep up to date on accounts owned by their teams, remote users can also use Web Client to just view accounts. Account access is determined by the security access set by the system administrator.
