Inventory Projection

Shipment punctuality and lead times factor into future inventory levels. The Inventory Projection console predicts future levels of inventory by comparing in-transit part quantities to consumption levels specified by the customer. Through this console, customers can see how shipment punctuality and lead times are affecting inventory, gaining the ability to act on potential shortages and stoppages.

Before using the Inventory Projection console, customers must first set up the indicator tolerances. These settings determine how early customers are warned (through an indicator on the console) of potential shortages or stoppages.

After setting up the indicators, customers must routinely send (import) Part Inventory and Part Consumption APIs to Supplier Exchange. The Part Inventory API reports current part inventory levels and provides safety stock numbers for alerting users. The Part Consumption API reports future part consumption rates.
