About Ultimate Inventory Quantity
Ultimate inventory quantity decreases or increases quantities of unlocked, decoupled process batches (i.e., replenishment and depletion batches) to keep the inventory simulation just above standard inventory level. Batches you want to be affected need to be selected in either the planning board or in the Process batches overview window. The usual context in which this occurs is a change in demand that takes place after an initial schedule has been made. No new batches are created, batches are not shifted in time, and existing minimum and maximum batch quantities are respected. Batches that increase in size retain their end times, while those that decrease in size retain their start times. If maximum batch quantity means it is impossible to keep inventory simulation above standard inventory level, Infor Production Scheduling will beep once per affected product. If batches for the same product overlap, the ultimate replenishment or depletion quantity cannot be calculated accurately. Compare latest inventory time, which adjusts batch times instead of quantities. This is accessed from the menu.
