About Connecting and Disconnecting Batches

Connect Process Batch Inflow - This command allows you to empty tank batches into a single process batch. You can control the sequence of tank batch emptying and the quantity that you want to take from each tank batch.

Connect Process Batch Outflow - This command allows you to top up existing tank batches from a single process batch with surplus. You can control the sequence of tank batches to be topped up and the quantity with which you want to top up each tank batch.

Connect Tank Batch Outflow - This command allows you to select one tank batch with surplus and one or more downstream process batches and create flows between them. Any flow constraints are taken into account. If you try to connect two batches in such a way that it will result in a violation of one of the constraints, a message is displayed asking if you want to continue or cancel.

Disconnect Batches - This command allows you to disconnect a tank batch from a downstream process batch for which it provides inflow. Both need to be selected. If the tank batch cannot accommodate surplus, then the tank batch quantity will be reduced. This may lead to deletion of the tank batch and any batches providing inflow to it. If the process batch status attribute Delete not Allowed is set to Yes and the Modify Inflow for Batches with Delete not Allowed option has not been selected in your scheduling preferences, then you will receive a warning message. This function gives greater flexibility than using delete inflow on the process batch or using delete outflow on the tank batch because it does not remove the links with any other tank or process batches.

These commands are accessed from the Batches menu.
