About Batch Network
A given batch may be related to other batches in terms of timing or quantity. For example, a tank batch may need a minimum amount of time before its outflow product is ready as inflow for a succeeding process batch to start, or a process batch may need a minimum amount of inflow product before the process can take place. Such time or quantity relationships are called batch network; a set of batches that are dependent on each other for time sequence or quantity.
Batch networks can be visually depicted on the planning board. For example, a user can select a target batch and see which other batches, preceding it or following it, depend on it.
The user can define the scope of the network to be shown. Inflow or outflow can be shown and the number of levels to be shown can be defined by using the Show Network dialog box. If you are in a batch overview window, you will get a list of all inflow and/or outflow batches. The results will be shown on the planning board. Only batches visible on the planning board are selected. The related batches are bolded.
Along with batch network, you might want to use product flow.
