Subsets

A subset is a subgroup of elements of a dimension, defined according to certain criteria. They let you isolate and work with only the data that interests you and to create custom combinations of elements. Subsets can be members of other subsets.

Subsets are saved in a Named Sets folder under each dimension in the Database Structure. The folder is not displayed unless there is at least one subset for the dimension and named sets have been enabled in the Database Structure Options dialog.

Subsets are particularly useful when working with very large dimensions or when creating and designing complex Alea Ad-hoc reports. They form the basis of data areas.
