Flex fields

Flex fields are used to add data sets to the application. Creating a flex field allows additional data to be included in inbound and outbound API files and to appear within the application.

Customers and suppliers can set up flex fields by document type. Flex-fields have three main components.

  • The code is used to reference the field in inbound and outbound API files.
  • Labels can be entered for each application-supported language.
  • The value is the content of the field.

Flex fields can be either optional or mandatory. All mandatory flex fields must be included in the inbound APIs to which they belong.

Customers can add flex fields to these document types:

  • Material Release. Flex fields can be added at both the header and requirement level.
  • Shipping Schedule. Flex fields can be added at both the header and requirement level.
  • Discrete Purchase Order. Flex fields can be added at both the header and line item level.
  • Proposed Purchase Order. Flex fields can be added at both the header and line item level.
  • Blanket Purchase Order. Flex fields can be added at both the header and line item level.
  • Receipt. Flex fields can be added at the header level.
  • Defective Material Notice. Flex fields can be added at the header level.
  • Delivery Performance Report. Flex fields can be added at the header level.
  • PPAP. Flex fields can be added at the header level.
  • Self-Billing Invoice. Flex fields can be added at both the header and line item level.
  • Remittance Advice. Flex fields can be added at both the header and line item level.
  • Work Order. Flex fields can be added at the header level.

Suppliers can add flex fields to these document types:

  • Miscellaneous Invoice. Flex fields can be added at both the header and line item level.
  • Production Invoice. Flex fields can be added at both the header and line item level.
  • Shipper. Flex fields can be added at both the header and line item level.
