Formatting Ad-hoc reports

Ad-hoc reports are formatted according to the styles in the templates on which they are based or, if they are not template-based, on the styles specified in the report. But they are also affected by the selected data formatting type.

SeeWorking with data formatting types.

If Provider formatting is selected, provider formats are applied where they conflict with a format specified in the report or template. For example, a template might specify that values are displayed with no decimal places, but the database might be formatted to display values to two decimal places. If Provider formatting is selected in a report based on the template, values are displayed to two decimal places. Other formats specified by the template (for example, cell borders) are retained if there is no format specified in the data.
