Creating a default Ad-hoc report

When you double-click a cube in the Database Structure, or click New Ad-hoc Report in the toolbar of the Database Structure, a default view of the cube is displayed. By default, the Measure dimension forms the columns in new Ad-hoc reports and the next dimension in the hierarchy forms the rows. The remaining dimensions are used as slice-dimensions.

If you are logged on as Administrator, you can specify a different default view by creating an Ad-hoc report and clicking Save As Default Ad-hoc Report for cube in the Save Ad-hoc Report As dialog. The other options of the dialog are disabled.

The specified default Ad-hoc report is the default Ad-hoc report for all users of the cube in the report catalog.

If there is already a default Ad-hoc report, you are prompted to confirm that you want to overwrite it.

Users can clear the Use Default Ad-hoc report check box in the New Ad-hoc Report dialog.
