Creating and publishing metrics

To create and publish metrics:

  1. Define metric components to select the categories, tests, and ratings that will be used to create reports.
  2. Set up the metrics scoring. The scoring includes any custom metrics that you define.
  3. Generate metrics. After generating metrics, you can skip to step 5 or 6. Import PPM and custom metrics. If you import custom metrics from an outside source, you must import them after generating a metrics report. If you are using custom metrics but do not import them, you can enter in the scores in step 6. PPM defect data must always be imported.
  4. Edit weights as necessary. If all of the suppliers' scores are close together, you can update the weights to provide a spread of scores. When the supplier scores are more spread out, it is easier to compare performance.
  5. Edit scores as necessary. If a supplier's performance was affected by an extenuating factor, you can override the score for one or more categories.
  6. Publish metrics. If you want to make the metrics available to each supplier, you must publish them. After they are published, each supplier can view their own scores in a report card.
  7. View the supply chain or suppliers.
