About Views
Views are selections of resources configured in a particular way and presented in the planning board. By defining a variety of views and then selecting one for display in the
menu, you ensure that users see specific information in a particular way. Views are also used to define how information is displayed in the utilization window and details of printed reports. The View entry dialog box contains options to create and select views and to define how they are shown on the planning board. You can configure multiple time axes and resources panels. The configured panels are displayed on the planning board in the order in which they are listed in the view section of the Panels group box. The first panel in the list is shown topmost on the planning board.
These tabs are displayed in the View entry dialog box.
- General tab - This tab allows you to select the views to be shown on the planning board.
- Settings Tab- This tab allows you to define display options, such as colors.
- Time Axis tab - This tab contains the settings for the Time axis group box. You can select the scale used to display your selected time axis.
- Resources tab - On this tab, you can define the resources to be shown on the planning board. You can configure more than one resource tab.
- Batches tab - The Batches tab contains the batch-related settings. You can use these settings to define how the batches are displayed and what additional information is to be shown. The information is shown above or below the batch or in the information bar in the Selected Resources tab. The group box contains process batch, tank batch, enabling batch, and downtime tabs allowing you to set up each type of batch differently. Regular and custom fields can be selected, as well as characters, to separate the displayed fields.
- Signals tab - This tab shows the signals that can be set. Signaling enables you to specify signaling in the planning board and in overviews.
- Inventory Simulation tab - The inventory simulation is a graphical representation of the inventory levels of materials. This tab is used to determine how it appears. The Inventory Simulation tab is only available if you have selected Inventory simulation on the General tab. You can see an example of inventory simulation on the planning board.
- Utility Requirements tab - The utility requirements simulation is a graphical representation of the labor needed for production. The Utility Requirements tab is only available if you have selected Utility requirements on the General tab. It is based on the scheduled batches, your timetables, and on the number of operators for the resources defined in your time periods.
- Publish tab - This tab allows a view to be published in the database to make it available for viewing in Web Viewer for AS. Unlike views displayed in Infor Production Scheduling, views displayed in Web Viewer for AS contain a single time axis and a single resource axis. You can store settings for views that need to be published. For example, these settings can include the path for the published views.
Using Web Viewer you can publish Infor Production Scheduling schedules and data on the Web. The schedules appear on the Web in a planning board, which looks like a Gantt chart. You can share the schedule quickly and easily throughout your organization with people who do not have Infor Production Scheduling installed. They can view, but not modify, the schedules that you publish. The Gantt chart on the Web shows detailed information about resources, process batches, tank batches, and downtimes. Viewers can move through the schedule both horizontal and vertically. For information on the Infor Web Viewer for AS, contact your Infor representative or the Infor ActionLine.
