Database Structure

The Database Structure displays the structure of database aliases to which you have access.

The buttons of the Database Structure vary according to which level of the database structure you select. For example, the Log On and Log Off buttons can refer to a repository or to a database alias:

Buttons

Button Description
Log On Log on to the last used Repository, project and report catalog. If the Save Password check box was not selected, the Log On dialog is displayed .
Log On with Options Open the Log On dialog with options to select a Repository, report catalog and project.

Log Off Log off from the Repository
New Database Alias Open the New Database Alias dialog.

New Ad-hoc Report Create an Ad-hoc report with the selected cubes in the Ad-hoc report Designer.

New Alea Ad-hoc Report See Alea Ad-hoc reports.
New Global List Create a global list.
Preview Open the Preview pane to see a preview of a selected list.
Refresh Refresh the view of the OLAP Server structure of the database to which you are connected.
Properties Display the properties of an object selected in the database structure.
Database Structure Options Open the Database Structure Options dialog.
New Calculation Create a calculation. Calculations must be enabled in the database structure pane options.

Options

By default the Database Structure displays the cubes, dimensions and hierarchies of each OLAP Server database alias. To display additional structural elements click Database Structure Options and select the elements to display. For OLAP Server database aliases, the options are:

  • Show Named Sets: Named sets are customized subsets of elements that are stored in the database for reuse
