Connecting to the sample database

If you have installed the Best Practices Templates sample database, you can view and work with the sample reports that it contains, and create your own reports.

To connect to Best Practices Templates:

  1. Start Application Studio and open the Log On dialog.
    See Starting Application Studio.
  2. If the Options button is labeled Options >>, click it.
    Further fields are displayed and the label of the button changes to Options <<.
  3. Select Best Practices Templates from the Repository list.
  4. Select Basic authentication and specify admin as the user name.
    A password is not required.
  5. Click Connect.
  6. Select Best Practices Templates from the Project list.
  7. Select Best Practices Templates Reports from the Report catalog list.
  8. Click OK.
