Cut, copy and paste in panes

You can cut, copy and paste these objects to different locations (including different repositories):

• Folders
• Reports
• Global lists (server, client, relational, string, Data Link)
• Calculations
• String hierarchies
• Variables (global and report)

The Cut, Copy and Paste buttons and right-click menu options are displayed only where these functions are available.

You cannot cut or copy the Style Sheets and Report Templates folders in the Report Catalog.

When a report is copied, all its dependencies are copied with it (for example, global lists, variables and string hierarchies).

You can copy lists from one hierarchy to another. This can be useful if the definition of the list is complex (for example, with many filters and sorts) and you want to use its structure in another location. You can copy the list and then change the element selection.
