Keyboard shortcuts

This table shows the available key board shortcuts for functions and commands in Application Studio:
Shortcut Description
ALT+ENTER Open the Object Properties of a list object.
Start a new line in the same cell.
ALT+F1 Insert a chart.
ALT+F2 Open the Splasher dialog, in View Mode, in reports which contain one or more writable cells.
ALT+F3 Column properties. Use Ctrl+F3 for row properties.
ALT+F4 Exit the application.
ALT+F9 Edit names and texts.

ALT+F10 Unfreeze a horizontal area. Use Shift+F10 to freeze.
ALT+I Unfreeze a vertical area. Use Ctrl+I to freeze.
ALT+PAGE DOWN Go one screen to the right.
ALT+PAGE UP Go one screen to the left.
ALT+SHIFT+F1 Insert sparkline.

ALT+SHIFT+F5 Conditional formatting.

CTRL+1 Open the Format Cells dialog.

CTRL+A Select the entire spreadsheet.
CTRL+ALT+I Print preview.
CTRL+ALT+V Paste the format (font, color etc.,) of a cell.
CTRL+C Copy
CTRL+D Copy cell values into cells below. To copy a single value or row press Ctrl+D in the row below it. If you select multiple rows of values and multiple blank rows to copy them to, CTRL+D copies and pastes only the first row.

Example: Enter 1,2 and 3 into cells A1, B1 and C1, enter 4,5 and 6 into cells A2, B2 and C2, highlight cells A1 to C6 and press CTRL+D. The values 1, 2 and 3 are copied into rows 3 to 6.

CTRL+F Open the Find dialog. Use Ctrl+H to open the Replace dialog.
CTRL+F2 Open the Edit OLAP Formula dialog.

CTRL+F3 Row properties. Use Alt+F3 for column properties.
CTRL+F4 Log off.

Use Ctrl+O to log on.

CTRL+F7 Specify visible report area.

CTRL+F9 Open the Language dialog for selection of the report or user interface language.

CTRL+F11 Open the Export Wizard.
CTRL+G Open the Go to dialog.
CTRL+H Open the Replace dialog. Use Ctrl+F to open the Find dialog
CTRL+HOME Go to the first cell of the spreadsheet.
CTRL+I Freeze a vertical area. Use Alt+I to unfreeze.
CTRL+K Open the Define Action dialog.
CTRL+N Create a new object under the current parent. For example, select a report or variable in the Repository Explorer and press CTRL+N to create a new report or variable.
CTRL+O Log on.

CTRL+P In View Mode, open the Print Report dialog.
CTRL+Page Up/Page Down Toggle between View Mode, Debug Mode and Design Mode.
CTRL+R Copy cell values into cells to the right. To copy a single value or column, press Ctrl+R in the column to the right. If you select multiple columns of values and multiple blank columns to copy them to, CTRL+R copies and pastes only the first column.

Example: Enter 1, 2 and 3 into cells A1, A2 and A3, enter 4, 5 and 6 into cells B1, B2 and B3, highlight cells A1 to E3 and press CTRL+R. Values 1, 2 and 3 are pasted into columns C to E.

CTRL+S Save report
CTRL+SHIFT+F3 Format report background.
CTRL+SHIFT+F7 Remove a visible report area. See Ctrl+F7.
CTRL+SHIFT+F8 Never underline hyperlinks. See also F8 and Shift+F8.

DELETE Delete the character to the right of the insertion point, or delete the selection.
ENTER Open the currently selected object. For reports, it has effect only if the Open reports on double-click option is selected in Extras > Settings > Report Pane. For a custom hierarchy, the Hierarchy Designer opens. For a variable, the Edit Value dialog opens and, for a list, the List Designer opens.
ENTER If you have selected a range of cells, press Enter to scroll down the selected cells. Use Shift+Enter to scroll up.
ENTER Complete a cell input and move the cursor to the cell below.
ESC Cancel the input into the cell or the formula bar.
F1 Open the help file.
F2 Make a field editable.
F4 Open the Properties pane in the Report Catalog.
F8 Underline hyperlinks always. See also Shift+F8 and Ctrl+Shift+F8.
F10 Sets a horizontal and vertical freeze area.

F11 Hide or display the Repository Explorer.
F12 Hide or display the List Designer.
HOME Move to the first cell in the row.
INSERT See Ctrl + N.
PAGE DOWN Go down one screen.
PAGE UP Go up one screen.
SHIFT+ENTER If you have selected a range of cells, press Shift+Enter to scroll up the selected cells. Use Enter to scroll down.
SHIFT+ENTER Complete a cell input and move the cursor to the cell above.
SHIFT+F2 Open the Report Wizard.
SHIFT+F5 Display the report in full-screen mode. Press Esc to exit full-screen mode.
SHIFT+F6 Open or close the Script Editor.

SHIFT+F10 Specify a horizontal freeze area. Use Alt+F10 to unfreeze.
SHIFT+F11 Insert rows.
SHIFT+F12 Insert a column.
SHIFT+SPACE Select the current row.
SHIFT+TAB If you have selected a range of cells, Shift+Tab moves the cursor, cell by cell, from the cell at the bottom right of the range to the cell at the top left of the range. Use Tab to move from top left to bottom right.
TAB Tab downwards from left to right within the selected range, or scroll down within the range if only a single column is selected.
