For a supplier to send an expedited shipment, you must either approve a supplier-initiated AETC request or create a premium freight authorization.

When you create and save a premium freight authorization, which contains details about the authorized shipment, the authorization status is open. You can leave the authorization is an open status or publish it so the supplier can view and ship against it. When you publish the authorization, the status is published. The supplier ships against the authorization, sending you an Advance Ship Notice (ASN).
