File extensions
Documents can be received through either FTP or as email attachments. With the exception of PDF files, the file extension indicates the type of document, not the format of the file. To open the file, it must be saved with the extension of the format selected in the document profile.
The Supplier Exchange file extensions indicate the document type:
- .mat - Material Release
- .shpscd - Shipping Schedule
- .vmi - VMI Schedule
- .kbn - eKanban Schedule
- .kxml - eKanban Pull Signal
- .asn - Advance Ship Notice
- .rcpt - Receipt
- .po - Purchase Order
- .msg - Mail Message
To open the file, change the extension to match the file format:
- .xml - XML (Extensive Markup Language)
- .csv - CSV (Comma Separated Variable)
- .edi - EDI (Edifact)
- .x12 - ANSI X12 (American National Standards Institute X12)
