About Depleting Inventory
Depleting inventory is a form of forward planning that creates depletion batches to lower the inventory level of an inventory point. Depletion batches are typically used for the further processing or depletion of by-products.
You can override the depletion strategy.
You can choose manual or automatic depletion:
- The automatic mode uses the defined constraints to create the depletion batches.
- The manual mode starts with a suggestion that is based on shortage or overflow. You can specify exactly how many batches of what quantity need to be created.
