Working with different browsers

Multiple paste

Whether multiple paste works, depends on the browser used:

  • Firefox, Chrome, Safari: Multiple paste in Firefox, Chrome and Safari can work incorrectly if the values you paste into cells contain quotation marks. In this case, Application Studio may not be able to determine the cell range correctly.

    Possible consequences are:

    • Application Studio pastes the cell content into an incorrect range.
    • Application Studio pastes two or more cell values into a single cell.
  • Internet Explorer: Multiple paste works as expected.

Authentication

Firefox: Note that Firefox does not recognize Windows authentication.

Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration

Enhanced Security Configuration (ESC) is an additional security layer in Internet explorer that is only available to Microsoft Windows Server systems.

See .

If you access Application Studio WebServices in Internet Explorer from a Windows Server machine, some features such as mouse-over events in context menus do not work correctly. These effects can be reduced by, for example, adding 'about:blank' to the list of trusted sites in Internet Explorer. But they cannot be avoided unless you disable ESC.
Note:  We do not recommend that you disable ESC. Also, industry best practices recommend that you do not access web applications from server machines.

Special characters

Do not use Microsoft Wingdings fonts to display special characters in reports which will be viewed on the Internet. Instead, use images or unicode.

To insert unicode in Application Studio a cell, first press F2 in Design Mode to make the cell editable, then press Alt followed by the required unicode.
