What Are Forecasts

Forecasts analyze your opportunities pipeline for a specified time period. On the Opportunity detail view, users can select the Add to Forecast option to include the opportunity in any forecasts. Forecasts include the assigned user’s open opportunities with an expected close date between the forecast start and end dates. As the opportunities progress through the pipeline, the forecast changes to reflect opportunities that close and changes to the potential value of the remaining open opportunities.

You can create forecast snapshots Taking a Forecast Snapshot to record your progress at a particular time within the forecast. Forecasts can help you determine your progress toward a quota.

The system administrator and users with the appropriate role can access these features.
