Using the Forecast Detail View
Use the Forecast Detail view to see, add, or edit information for a selected record. The Detail view consists of information fields and tabs.
The system administrator and users with the appropriate role can access these features.
To open the Forecast Detail view, on the Navigation Bar, click to open the Forecasts List view. If necessary, use the Lookup to locate a forecast, and then click on the description.

- Switch to the List view using the List View on the toolbar, or click the current group tab.
- Take a snapshot.
Information Fields
- Description
- A brief description of the forecast. By default, the
description includes the assigned user’s name and time period, but the description
can
be edited.
Note: Updating the Assigned to or Start Date automatically updates the Description.
- Assigned To
- The user whose opportunity pipeline forecasts. If necessary, click to lookup and select a different user.
- Amount
- The expected forecast amount. You can use the Worksheet information to help you determine the amount. Click the Set as Forecast Amount icon next to the Total Potential Minimum Amount, Average Amount, or Maximum Amount in the Worksheet section or type a value.
- Active
- If selected, indicates that the forecast is current. Use this to identify if this is the forecast for the current time period.
- Start Date
- The date to start the forecast. The forecast includes all opportunities in the pipeline with an expected close date or closed date between the start and end dates.
- End Date
- The date the forecast time period ends. The End Date is automatically calculated based on your company’s financial settings, but can be edited.
