Adding and Editing Ticket Activities

Use this view to add a new activity for work done on the ticket or to edit/update an existing activity. Ticket Activities enable you to track the time, the types of tasks, and any associated costs involved in resolving a ticket. Activities are recorded by activity type and charge rate and are used for billing the customer against their service contracts. You can set up future (follow-up) activities for yourself or another user.

Note: The security access determines what functions are available. Contact the administrator for any access rights changes. WebViewer users may not access full functionality.

To open the Ticket Activities view:

  1. Open the Ticket Detail view.
  2. Click the Ticket Activities tab. If the tab is not visible, click More Tabs.

To add activity comments to the ticket:

  1. Use the Comments field to include additional information.
  2. Click (Save).

To add ticket activity details and parts using the Advanced view:

  1. On the Ticket Activities tab, click Advanced.

    The Insert Ticket Activity view opens.

  2. Complete the ticket activity information fields.
  3. To add activity parts, in the Ticket Activity Parts area, click (Associate Part).
  4. Find a part using the lookup and click Add Selected.
  5. Click (Save).

To edit Ticket Activity details:

  1. From the list of ticket activities, click Edit next to the activity you want to change.
  2. Edit the ticket activity information fields.
    Note:  There are several information boxes that cannot be edited by the user.
  3. Click (Save).
