Resetting User Management link

In Repository Administration you may use the same User Management for different repository databases. For this, you select the registration of a repository database that contains the User Management to be used. You can take into account non-local repository registrations of configuration source types Enterprise and Service:

Changing the User Management link

You can reset the link to the User Management of the original repository database again.

Note:

To reset the user management link, you require the permission Administer User Management Link:

Repository Permission Management

To reset the link to the User Management of the original repository database:

  1. Right-click the registration in the tree (a connection must not exist) and select All Tasks > Reset User Management Link.
  2. In the Reset User Management Link dialog, select the authentication system of the user who is used to log on to the repository from the drop-down list. The authentication system must be activated in the internal User Management. Then specify the log-on data of the user account.
  3. To reset the user management link, click OK.
Note: If you are working with auditing in repository database that are joined by user management links, you must consistently enable auditing across all joined repository databases:
    • When you define a user management link in the current repository in which auditing is inactive to a User Management repository in which auditing is enabled, auditing will also be enabled for the current repository. This message is shown: Auditing is enabled for the selected User Management Repository. It will be enabled also for the current Repository. This action cannot be rolled back once it is performed.
    • When you define a user management link in the current repository in which auditing is enabled to a User Management repository in which auditing is inactive, the next logon to such a repository with link to the User Management repository will fail. You must reset the user management link, enable auditing in the User Management repository as well, and then set up the user management link again.
    • Audit entries that relate to user management are always stored in the linked database where the changes are done.
