About Tank Allocation Solvers

Solvers with a type of Tank Allocation are available for tank groups only. It will choose from tanks within the tank group. Tank batch sizes will not be changed. The tank allocation will reallocate the existing tank batches to tanks within the defined constraints for tanks. The tank batches are allocated to the tanks by maximizing the empty period between two tank batches. Status attributes are considered. You can enter search limits on the Configuration tab on the Solver window.

Note: The allocation of (flow) buffer tanks is not supported. Under some circumstances, such as when the incoming and outgoing flows are known, they can be allocated by the standard solver or the tank allocation solver. However, in other cases, it is hard, if not impossible, to calculate or estimate the minimum and maximum tank level required by a flow buffer batch.
