Quick import

The advantage of Quick Import over the Process Data function is that it can process large volumes of data more quickly. But, the file you import from must meet these criteria:

• There is a field in the records corresponding to each dimension of the cube to which you are importing data.
• The contents of the fields exactly match the elements of the dimensions.
• There is only one field in the file which contains numbers.

If you have source data in this format, we recommend that you use Quick Import. If you are planning to import very large amounts of data (one million or more records) it may well be worthwhile spending the time to restructure your import data so that you can use Quick Import.

With the Quick Import function you map the fields in a file to the dimensions of a cube.
