Logging on

The Log On dialog is not displayed if you previously clicked Save Password in the Log On dialog. The Log On dialog has two halves and the bottom half can be hidden. If the Options button is labeled Options>>, click it to display the complete dialog.

If the Log On dialog is displayed:

  1. Specify the authentication system in the Authentication field.
  2. Specify the user name and password.
You might find it convenient to click Save Password if you will normally log on as the same user, to the same repository, project and report catalog. The Log On dialog will not be displayed subsequently but can be reenabled.

If you prefer to use the Log On dialog each time you use Office Plus, do not select Save Password.

If you save the password, but subsequently need to log on to a different Repository, project or report catalog, click Log Off and then select Log On > Log On with Options.

  3. Select the repository and click Connect.
The Repository contains the metadata for user administration, report catalogs, projects and reports. You must connect to the Repository to display reports.
    1. To open User Management, click the arrow on the Disconnect button. Select User Management from the shortcut menu.

      See User management

Note: Projects and report catalogs have their own user management dialogs.

See Managing Project And Report Catalog Permissions.

To open these dialogs, click the arrow on the Add button and select User Management from the menu.
    2. To add projects and report catalogs to the Repository, click the respective Add button.
Projects and report catalogs are structural units of a repository. A Repository contains projects which contain report catalogs.
    3. To edit or remove projects and report catalogs, click the arrow on the Add button and select Edit or Remove from the menu.
  4. Select the project.
  5. Select the report catalog.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click the database alias to which to connect and click Log On on the tool bar of the Database Structure pane. Or, double-click the database alias.
The cubes of the database are displayed.
