Attributes tab

You can choose whether the original name or the caption of the list elements is displayed in the report. There must be an alias table in the OLAP Server database.

The Attributes tab has these options and buttons:
Search caption in attribute first
When you select Search caption in attribute first, the drop-down list is enabled. Choose an attribute that is displayed instead of the element name. Select the from:check box to enable the list that contains the attribute.
To reference global variables, enter the name in the list of variable names, for example, "=List._CurrentLanguage.Text".
If there is no caption search in
When you select If there is no caption, search in, the list is enabled. Enter a different attribute. This attribute will be displayed when no attribute is found for the preceding selection.
Hide duplicate caption
Duplicate captions are not displayed.
Carry attribute field in list
Select Carry attribute field in list to save the attributes as well as the list definition.
Load default
Click Load Default to load the attributes and add them to the list definition.
Save as default
Click Save as Default to save the selected attributes.

Using attributes to display the language

If there is an attribute table which contains translated element names, you can use the attributes to display the elements in the translated language.

  1. To display the attributes on the worksheet, open the Client List Designer and select the Attributes tab.
  2. Select Search caption in attribute first
  3. Select From.
  4. Select the attribute table that contains the attribute.
  5. From the Search caption in attributes first list, select Selection of a variable.
    The Edit Formula dialog is displayed.
  6. Expand the list of global variables and select _CurrentLanguage.
    The list is displayed in the language selected in Application Studio.
