Displaying named sets
Named Sets are customized lists which can be used in place of, or with, the levels in a dimension.
For example, a Region dimension might contain the regions Asia, Europe, Middle East, Americas, North America, South America, Australia/Pacific and Africa, but not the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). You could use a named set for the EMEA region.
Note: Named sets are created in the OLAP Server database where they are referred to as Subsets.
To display named sets in the database structure, click
and select . Named sets are displayed in a folder under each dimension. When a native non-ODBO database alias is used, named sets are shown as ordinary hierarchies in OLAP Version 5.2 and higher.
