DataLink lists

A DataLink list is a DataLink SQL query that is defined in a DataLink list designer and displayed in the Database Structure pane.

Which DataLink list designer you use depends on your version of Infor Q&A.

For Infor Q&A 10 you use the DataLink list designer.

For DataLink Server you use the DataLink Server list designer.

Lists based on Infor Q&A 10 are static. But Infor BI DataLink Server enables you to create dynamic lists which can be driven by BI variables. Dynamic DataLink lists can be used in widgets in Infor Business Intelligence Dashboards and can communicate with widgets based on BI data sources.

To create a DataLink list:

  1. Right-click a Q&A database alias in the database structure and select New > DataLink List.
  2. Specify the name of the list and press <Return>.
  3. Define the list, using the DataLink list designer.
