Creating new forms

Uwaga: Before creating a form ensure you have defined the necessary default settings.
  1. From the File menu select New or alternatively click the New button on the Standard toolbar. The New Form dialog is displayed. Specify this information:
    Form Type
Select a form type. You can only create System or SASI forms if running Form Designer in full mode.
    Function
Select a function from the list, which is taken from the SunSystems Data Dictionary. This is the SunSystems internal function identifier; not the SunSystems menu shortcut. By default the list displays functions alphabetically by description. The function name appears on the form window title bar.
Uwaga: If you can't see the full function name in the drop down list, resize the width of the New Form dialog.
    Form Codes
Enter a form code to identify your form. This must be an upper case alphanumeric code up to eight characters long. The form code appears on the form window title bar. Make a note of the form code as you need it when adding your forms to functions (menu items).
Uwaga: Characters that can be used for form codes are A-Z (upper case) and a-z (lower case will be converted to upper case) from the English alphabet, numbers 0-9, plus '_' underscore.
    Description
Enter an alphanumeric description up to 100 characters long.
  2. Click OK to confirm your settings and to create the form.
Uwaga: You may encounter a pause, whilst the data about the specified function is refreshed from the server. The duration of this pause depends upon the what function you have used.

A blank form is displayed in the form window area. A list of available data items for the function are displayed in the data item list. You can also see the property values for the new form in the properties bar.

  3. Controls can be added to your form.
    Data Item Controls
Drag data item controls from the Data Item List onto the form window.
    Layout Controls
Use the Form Designer toolbar to add frames, grids, tab pages, and navigation controls to the form window.
    Command Buttons
Use the Form Designer toolbar to add action, function and application buttons to the form window.
Uwaga: Mandatory data items are marked with a red bullet. All mandatory data items must be placed on the form before you can check it back to the server.
