Configuring the data source

  1. From the Settings menu, select SunSystems > Configure.
    If no data source has been configured, the fields in this dialog are blank.

    If a SQL server or Oracle data source has been configured, the Type, Server and Database fields are populated (for SQL Server) or Type, TNS Connection, Schema fields (for Oracle).

  2. You can view and modify these details as follows:

    To configure Microsoft SQL Server as the data source:

    1. From the Type drop-down list, select the platform type Microsoft SQL Server.
    2. In the Server field, enter the name of the server.
    3. In the Database field, enter the name of the data source.

    To configure Oracle as the data source:

    1. From the Type field drop-down list, select the platform type Oracle.
    2. In the TNS Connection field, enter the Transparent Network Substrate (TNS) name.
    3. In the Schema field, enter the name of the schema.
  3. Save your changes.
