Setup Wizard

Before configuring the data model, create an empty database. Use Microsoft SQL Server. This database must be dedicated to Infor Production Scheduling. For optimized performances, we recommend that the database server be accessible from your local network. The database server must be accessible to all Infor Production Scheduling users.

To configure the database, you must have access to the SQL server database.

When you start Infor Production Scheduling and open a local data file, the Setup Wizard is displayed. The Setup Wizard allows you to upload the data file to the data vault.

  1. Click the Run button.
  2. To configure the data source, perform these actions:
    1. In the Edit Database Connection dialog box, click ODBC.
    2. On the User DSN tab of the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box, select the new data source and click Configure.
      The Microsoft SQL Server Data Source Configuration Wizard is displayed.
    3. Select a server for the ODBC connection.
    4. Optionally, modify the other parameters for the data source.
    5. Test the data source.
    6. Close the Microsoft SQL Server Data Source Configuration Wizard and ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box.
  3. In the data source field of the Edit Database Connection dialog box, select the configured data source.
    The connection to the database is established.
  4. If required, select a login name and a password.
  5. Click Test.
    The connection test results are displayed at the bottom of the dialog box.
  6. To close the Edit Database Connection dialog box, click OK.
  7. Click Create Schema.
    The schema in the database is configured to be used with Infor Production Scheduling.
  8. Optionally, in the data file location field, specify another data file.
  9. To create a data model, specify a model name.
    The model name allows you to uniquely identify your models. You can have multiple models in a database.
  10. Click Export.
    The data model is created.
  11. Click OK.
