Scheduling Orders

Selecting End Products to Find Related Orders and Batches

  1. Open the Schedule Orders window by selecting Batches > Schedule orders.
    Note: You can open this window with an active selection of process batches. From the planning board or the Process Batches overview window, select the process batches. While holding down the Shift key, select Batches > Schedule orders.
  2. Choose a product from the list of all end products. You can (reverse) sort them on code or description by holding down the Alt key and clicking the column titles. Type a digit to see the first product that begins with that digit. Alternatively, click Search Product to use the search window to make a selection.
  3. Select a range in which you want to search for batches and orders. Use the time bar buttons to shift back a week, back a day, to today, forward a day, and forward a week.
  4. Select an order from the Orders table and you will see that related batches with a start date within the range you have indicated are automatically highlighted in the list of batches.
    • The amount of surplus and the amount of outflow of each batch for this order are also shown. The Orders for End Item list box shows end items related to the end product you have selected. Any re-selection you make here will be reflected in the order and the batch lists. Alternatively, select a batch from the Batch table and you will see related orders with a due date within the range you have indicated.
    • The inflow quantity from each order that the selected batch produces is also shown. The Batches for Process Step list box shows the (alternative) process steps you can use to produce the end product selected. Any re-selection you make here will be reflected in the order and the batch lists.

Enlarging an Existing Batch or Creating a New Batch for an Order that Is Not Completely Scheduled

  1. If you want to enlarge an existing batch, drag the order onto an existing batch in the batch list.
    The Add Inflow to Order dialog box is displayed. Alternatively, if you want to create a batch, drop the order into an empty space in the batch list. The Add Inflow to Order dialog box is displayed.
  2. Choose how much you want to be added to an existing batch or to be present in a new batch.
    Note: 
    • You can drag multiple orders to a process batch. While holding down the Shift key, select several orders. While holding down the Alt key, drag the selected orders to an existing batch. In the Add Inflow to Order dialog box, the order field shows the order code in case of a single order or Orders (<number of dragged orders>) in case of multiple orders. The not yet scheduled field shows the sum of quantities that are not yet scheduled for the selected orders.
    • NEW BATCH in the second field indicates that you are creating a new inflow batch; if you did the former, you will see the same window with the name of the existing batch in this field.
    • Production Scheduling will first use the surplus of a batch before it is enlarged. The window informs you about the available amount of surplus in the batch.
  3. If you are creating a batch, enter a start time.
    This is set by default to the beginning of the work area. The start time of an existing batch remains the same.
  4. You can select a different resource group, if available.
  5. Click OK.

Deleting Part of a Batch from an Order

  1. Drag the batch onto the order.
    The Remove Inflow from Order dialog box is displayed. It displays the both the order and the process batch.
  2. Choose how much you want to remove from the batch.
  3. Click OK.

Deleting an Order or Batch

You can delete orders and batches by selecting them and clicking Delete.

Opening the Process Batches Orders Overview Window

Select an order or a batch, click Info.
The relevant overview window opens.

Splitting Batches

Select a batch, click Scissors.
You will be able to continue in the Split batch window. Orders cannot be split.
