Applying a Manual Sort Order

Manual sort can be used in combination with solvers, process batch scheduling, process batch distribution, and external algorithms.

Defining a manual sort order

  1. In the Process Batches overview window, click Sort.
  2. In the Manual Sort dialog box, click Settings, specify the scheduling parameters, and click OK.
    In the schedule field list, select the custom value in which you want to save the manual sort order.
  3. To reorder the batches in the batch list, you can perform these actions:
    Option Description
    Click the column header. Batches are reordered according to a column.
    Drag and drop a batch. You can simultaneously drag several batches. Use the Shift key to select multiple batches and drag the selection.
    In the Manual Sort dialog box, the batch list is reordered.
  4. To test the manual sort order, click Apply.
    The manual sort order sequence numbers are generated. In the batch list, the custom value column shows the sequence numbers. In the planning board, the specified scheduling parameters are applied to the selected batches.
  5. Click OK.
    The manual sort order is saved to the selected custom value. To define an additional sort order, perform the same operations with a different custom value.

Sorting batches in the Process Batches overview window

  1. In the Process Batches overview window , click Layout.
  2. In the Customize Overview window, add the saved custom value to the list of displayed columns.
    Note: You can reorder the column display and rename the headers.
  3. In the Process Batches overview window, to sort the batch list according to a saved order, click the header of the custom value.
