Defining Global Preferences - General Tab

  1. Open the Global Preferences dialog box by selecting File > Global Preferences.
    The General tab is selected by default.
  2. Select a default line separator for ASCII interfaces and the encoding option.
    The encoding option is used to match the data type of the data source or destination file for ASCII integration.
    Note: The Unicode data type of the source or destination database data should be nvarchar by default.
  3. Enter a company name. This is displayed at the bottom of printed reports.
  4. Enter a plant name. This is used primarily for the purpose of integration with ERP systems like Infor ERP Adage. It is not displayed at the bottom of printed reports.
  5. Add remarks briefly describing what your file is or what it does.
  6. If you want to specify a macro to be run upon start up of the system or when exiting, select it from the appropriate list box.
    Note:  If you want to stop a start up macro from running on startup, press and hold the Ctrl key when you click OK while logging in.
  7. If you want to move messages to a backup file after a certain time period, enter the number of days in the corresponding field.
  8. If you want to remove jobs from the Macro Execution Manager after a certain number of days, enter the number of days in the corresponding field.
  9. Click OK to save your preferences and close the dialog box. Alternatively, continue populating tabs in this dialog box.
