Creating a Utility - General Tab

  1. Select Factory > Utilities.
    The overview window containing all the utilities defined in your model opens.
  2. Click New.
    A dialog box is displayed.
  3. Enter a unique code for the new utility.
  4. Click OK.
    The Utility Entry window is displayed with the General tab selected by default.
  5. Enter a description for the utility.
  6. Select a timetable from the drop-down list box.
  7. Select a type from the list box or enter a new code.
  8. Select the unit of measure for the utility.
  9. Enter a maximum and minimum claim and a claim increment.
  10. Select the is critical check box to include this utility when utilities are included in a solver. In addition, critical utilities are indicated on the planning board with a solid red line.
  11. Select the check schedule check box if this utility should be verified when you run the Check schedule function.
  12. Click OK to save your changes and close the window. Alternatively, continue populating tabs on this window.
