Creating a Resource Group - General Tab

  1. Open the Resource Groups overview window by selecting Factory > Resource > Groups.
  2. Click New at the bottom of the Resource Groups overview window.
    A dialog box is displayed.
  3. Enter a unique code for the new group.
  4. In the category field, select the resource group type from the drop-down list to define the way a resource group can be used. This populates the category field on the entry window.
  5. Click OK.
    This opens the Resource Group entry window where you can configure the details of the resource group you want to create. The General tab is selected by default.
  6. Enter a description in the description field.
  7. Select the check schedule check box if this is a critical resource group that should be verified when you run the Check schedule function.
    Note:  A non-critical resource is a resource of which there is always enough and does not cause a delay in production.
  8. Change the efficiency if necessary.
    The efficiency field is a coefficient to set efficiency for all resources in the resource group. The efficiency value 1.0 represents 100% efficiency.
  9. Select the is critical check box if you want this group to be included when running the solver.
  10. The distribution strategy field is used to select the strategy to be used when allocating tank batches.
    The list box is only enabled if the category selected is tank group.
  11. Select any resources to be included in this group by clicking on the Select button and choosing the resources from the Resource Selection dialog box.
  12. Change the group type if necessary.
    Note:  The group type field can only be changed if the category is "process" and there are at least two resources selected. Otherwise, the group type is always choice group.
  13. Click OK to save your changes and close the window. Alternatively, continue populating tabs on this window.
