Creating a Process Batch - General Tab

Note:  Before working with any of the tabs, you must populate the new process batch dialog box. If you have not already done so, complete the beginning steps of a process batch.
  1. In the Process Batch Entry dialog box, enter any remarks you may have. They are displayed under the batch in the planning board. Modify the resource group and resource choice selections if necessary. You can modify the resource group only if more than one resource group has been entered in the stage.
  2. Where appropriate, select a status. If you select reg. start in, black bullets appear in the data section at the bottom of the screen next to the setup duration and inflow start date/time for this batch. This also prevents the batch from being deleted and locks the resource, but you can see that on the status attribute tab only.
Note:  Remember that selecting one status and then selecting another usually combines the two instead of replacing the first with the second. Select cleared if you want to start again.
  3. Where appropriate, enter the quantity of product present in the tank. If you have defined increments in the relevant process step, clicking the Plus and Minus buttons allows you to increase and decrease the batch quantity by whole increments within the range set by process step minimum and standard quantities. You are not limited by this constraint if you enter batch quantity manually here.
  4. Where appropriate, enter a surplus quantity.
  5. Enter a new value for the efficiency if you do not want to use the default.
  6. You can specify the release duration for the main product. The process step's default release duration is overridden by this value.
  7. In the min. start time field, you can specify the earliest time at which the batch can be scheduled.
  8. In the max. end time field, you can specify the latest time at which the batch can be scheduled.
  9. In the table, start date, time, end date, time and duration may be modifiable, depending on the chosen method. Changing the start time automatically leads to a corresponding change in the end time. This ensures that the batch duration remains the same. If the product has a fixed outflow duration, the outflow rate is calculated. If the product has a variable outflow rate, the duration is calculated.
  10. Click OK to save your changes and close the window. Alternatively, continue populating tabs on this window.
