Column Number

If you create an interface with a type of ASCII, when creating the attributes, you can identify the column number and length associated with the attribute.

Column numbers determine the column sequence in the interface file. Infor Production Scheduling does not generate them automatically. They need to be unique for write interfaces. However, for read interfaces you might want to assign two columns in the external system the same Infor Production Scheduling column number to combine them in Infor Production Scheduling. For example, product name and number may occupy two columns in the external system, but you might want to combine them into one in Infor Production Scheduling. Column numbers do not have to be sequential.
