Price changes
A price change is a retail-driven change in the price of a given item and location. A price change can be made to match a competitive price, for a promotional sale, or even to set an item's regular price. When a price change is created, it is assigned an identifier (System Price Change ID and Session ID). The price change can then be tracked in the system by an administrator or referenced by the front end user.
Price changes have a different status depending on where it is in the
life-cycle of the price change. Price changes can have a Status of:
- Draft
- The working state of a price change before it has been saved.
- Approved
- An upcoming price change that has been saved and approved, but the Start Date has not been met.
- Active
- A price change that is currently in effect.
- Completed
- A price change that has already occurred and that is past its End Date.
