Overall Equipment Effectiveness

The Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metric is used to measure the equipment effectiveness based on the availability, performance and quality of the equipment.

The OEE is applied in lean manufacturing environments to calculate the overall effectiveness of the production environment. The metric is used to analyze and compare the overall effectiveness of an individual machine, or groups of identical machines which perform a similar function. This also helps in identifying, creating and maintaining machine-based continuous improvement programs.

The Work Cell - OEE (tirpt4540m000) session displays the overall equipment effectiveness that is calculated in Infor LN.

The metrics are based on a weighted average based on shift length (net hours): The OEE % of a longer shift weighs more than the OEE % of a shorter shift.
