Importing and replacing projects

Note:

To import project data, you require the permission Administer Repository:

When you import and replace project data, the schema version of the import file may be older than the internal schema version of the target repository:

Displaying database information

To import project data from a file and replace the repository projects:

Right-click the Projects folder and select All Tasks > Import Projects....
In the Choose Import File dialog, click the Browse button, navigate to the import folder, select the import file. The file type Data files (*.dat) is preselected. Default import file name: <Name of the registration>_<Projects>.dat. Click Open.
Click Next.
In the Import Behavior dialog, specify this information:

Merge New Objects

When you select this option, new imported objects are added to the existing objects of the target repository.

Replace the target with the imported objects

Caution: When you import data and select this option, the data in the target repository are replaced by the imported objects.
Click Next and then Finish to start the import process.
