Creating and assigning Repository roles automatically

You can create roles and assign them automatically to groups from the Infor Federation Services authentication system provider that you registered in the User Management:

Registering users and groups

You create and assign the roles automatically to these groups in the Repository Permission Management, Project Permission Management, Report Catalog Permission Management, Dashboard Catalog Permission Management, or OLAP Permission Management of a repository.

To create and assign roles automatically:

Select a project or a report catalog in the tree and click the Roles tab.
To create the roles and assign them to registered groups from Infor Federation Services, click Assign Infor Security Roles on the toolbar. The dialog Assign Infor Security Roles opens where you select the roles that must be created and assigned to the registered groups.
To assign roles to the registered groups, select the roles in the Choose Infor Security Roles list and click Add. The selected roles are moved to the These Infor Security Roles are assigned to the permission managements including the View permission list.
To remove roles, select the roles in the These Infor Security Roles are assigned to the permission managements including the View permission list and click Remove. The selected roles are moved to the Choose Infor Security Roles list.
When you click OK, the dialog is closed and the roles from the These Infor Security Roles are assigned to the permission managements including the View permission list are created in the current project or report catalog of the repository and assigned to the registered groups. The names of the groups that are registered in the User Management and the assigned roles are identical. The View permission is assigned to these roles automatically. Because Infor Federation Services roles have special permissions in their authentication systems, a manual mapping of special roles and permissions is required for each registered group. Assign special permissions to these roles as required.

Note: In former Repository release versions until 10.4.1, you could not import, create, and assign roles when the authentication systems Infor Security and Infor Federation Services were registered in the repository at the same time, because both authentication systems used the same roles naming. If both providers were registered, an error message was shown. As of release 10.5.0 only the Infor Federation Services authentication provider is supported so that this conflict cannot happen anymore.
