Registering users and groups
To register user and groups:
- Select the User Management node in the tree.
- Click Add Users and Groups on the toolbar of the Users and Groups tab.

Select the authentication system provider from the menu that is
shown. The dialog
Register Users and Groups opens. Here you
register users and groups from the external authentication system provider.
The dialog consists of the sections Available users and groups on the left and Selected users and groups on the right.
In the Available users and groups section, the tree nodes Groups and Users are shown.
The dialog does not show any users or groups initially to avoid the loading of all users and groups from the source authentication system.
- If you register user and groups from a Windows authentication system provider, select first the Windows domain from the drop-down list Domain.
- Expand the tree nodes Groups and Users. Groups and users of the authentication system provider are loaded and shown below the tree nodes. To reload the list of users and groups in the Available users and groups section, click Reload the list of users and groups on the toolbar. The content of the Groups and Users nodes is cleared. When you expand the nodes again, the list of users and groups is reloaded.
- To add users and groups to the Selected users and groups section, double-click the user or group name in the Available users and groups section. Alternatively, select a user or a group of the Available users and groups section and click the button with the arrow to the right. To remove users or a groups from the Selected users and groups section, select a user or a group and click the button with arrow to the left.

To search for a user or group, click
Search for a user or a
group on the toolbar. The
Search for Users and Groups dialog opens. Here
you can search, for example, for user or group names or account names. When you
close the
Search for Users and Groups dialog with
OK, the selected users or
groups of your search result are added to the
Selected users and groups
section:

Note: Some authentication system providers do not support searching for users and groups. In this case, the Search for a user or a group button on the toolbar is disabled. - To display the properties of a user or a group, select the user or group in the Available users and groups section and click Properties on the toolbar. The dialog User/Group Properties opens that shows the properties of the selected user or group. When you select a group, name, description, system identifier, and group members are displayed. When you select a user, the same standard information and the user groups are displayed.
- To register the selected users and groups in the User Management, click OK.
