Activating and configuring Infor CPM Applications authentication

The interface information for the Infor CPM Applications authentication is included in the Infor BI Repository Administration. However, the Infor CPM Applications authentication is registered by default only if it has been selected when creating the repository database.

To activate and configure Infor CPM Applications authentication:

  1. To register the authentication system, right-click the User Management node in the tree and select the Authentication Systems command. The Authentication Systems dialog opens.
  2. Click Register. The Register Authentication System dialog opens.
  3. Select the Infor CPM Applications check box.
  4. Click OK. This activates all versions of the DLL files for the Infor CPM Applications authentication. The Infor CPM Applications authentication system is now shown in the Authentication Systems dialog.
  5. To configure the Infor CPM Applications authentication provider settings, select the Infor CPM Applications authentication system in the Authentication Systems dialog and click Properties. The Infor CPM Applications Authentication System Properties dialog opens.
  6. Specify the log-on data that is required to register users and groups of the Infor CPM Applications authentication provider:
    Provider
    Select the provider from the drop-down list. You can select Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle as provider.
    Server name/TNS name
    Specify the Microsoft SQL Server name or the TNS name in case of an Oracle provider.
    Database name
    Specify the database name for a Microsoft SQL Server.
    User Name
    Specify the user name to log on to the Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle server.
    Password
    Specify the password of the user to log on to the Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle server.
  7. Select the check box Show users of registered groups to display the Infor CPM Applications users who are registered by their group membership in the User Management of the repository database.
  8. To check the configured Infor CPM Applications authentication, click Test. The specified user name and password are checked to determine whether these are valid credentials. The user name and password in the Infor CPM Applications Authentication System Properties must be specified when you perform the test. Otherwise an error message is displayed.
  9. To save the Infor CPM Applications Authentication System Properties, click OK.

    When you have activated and configured the Infor CPM Applications authentication system, you may add users and groups in the User Management.
