Using Keep Element to isolate data

With Keep Element you can select report values that are of particular interest and isolate the elements from which they are derived. For example, in a report which displays sales for all regions in all years, the figures for one region in one quarter, and a second region for another quarter might be of interest.

To isolate data in an Ad-hoc report with Keep Element:

Press and hold Ctrl and select each value which is of interest.
Right-click and select Keep Element.
The report displays only the elements from which the selected values are derived.
There is no undo option for the Keep Element function. To reverse selections made in this way, you must use the List Designer.

Or, right-click an element and select Reset List. The default element of the dimension is displayed.
