General information

In Infor BI Designer you use a relational database to design and create multidimensional Infor BI OLAP Server databases. In Designer these are referred to as models. Using the Connector, you can access other databases and import their data and structures into a model.

In the navigation tree you can administer several database projects. A project is a set of dimensions, elements, and cubes from which you create a model. One Designer database can contain multiple projects. Projects are represented by folders at the top level of the navigation tree:

You can administer several database models and specify the projects that each model contains.

Thus you may configure several Infor BI OLAP Server databases in one repository. The model and project information, for example, structures and contents, are saved in the relational database (Designer.mdb or SQL database).
