Writing back with copy and paste

You can copy multiple values from Microsoft Excel and other applications and paste them into writeback cells in Application Studio WebServices.

The number of writable cells in Application Studio WebServices must be greater than, or equal to, the number of values to be pasted. If there are protected cells in the paste area, the data cannot be pasted.

But, if the writable cells in the paste area are separated by a full column or full row of protected cells, these are ignored and the values are pasted into the adjacent writable cells.

Only text can be pasted into Application Studio WebServices. If the copied data includes images, they are not pasted.

If a copied value is produced by a formula, the value is pasted but not the formula.

You cannot paste more than 1000 rows and 100 columns of data into Application Studio WebServices. Pasting values up to this limit may take several minutes. The Web browser cannot be used while values are being pasted.

Note: In Microsoft Internet Explorer version 8 the Paste option is disabled if the writeback cell contains text and you right-click after the text. To resolve this, left-click then right-click again. Or, right-click the text.
