Packaging reports for a BI Services application

To export customized or new reports to extend or change an existing BI application that is running in Infor BI Services:

  1. Select File > Export/Import > Export Application Component.
  2. Select Package reports for a BI Services application and click Next.
  3. Specify one of thses modes:
    • Self-contained application: The package contains complete content for the application. It can be used to reinstall the application or upgrade it to a newer version.
    • Incremental application update: The package contains only content that has been updated since the previous version. It can be used to deliver patches to an application.
    • Cumulative application update: The package merges several incremental updates. It can be used to deliver major updates to applications.
  4. Optionally, select Use export file to initialize this export and browse to the .export_log file to use to initialize the export.
    With this option you can apply the options that you selected in a previous export to the current export.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select the reports to export. For each, specify the required Protect and Drop User Values options and click Next.
  7. Select the templates to export. For each, specify the required Protect and Drop User Values options and click Next.
  8. Select the style sheets to export and clickNext.
    The style sheets used in the selected reports are automatically selected for export.
  9. Select the database aliases to export. For each, specify the required Include Role Values, Protect, and Drop Custom Settings options and click Next.
  10. Select the global variables to export. For each, specify the required Include Role Values, Protect and Drop User Values options and click Next.
  11. Select the images to export. For each, specify the required Protect option and click Next.
  12. Select the web extensions to include. For each, specify the required Protect option. and click Next.
  13. Select the translated texts to export. Specify whether they should be protected and click Next.
  14. Select the settings to export and click Next.
  15. Select the report catalog roles to export and click Next.
  16. Specify the location to which to export the content.
    Content is exported to a file with the .app_reports file extension. By default, the file has the name of the database alias from which the reports are exported. Optionally, specify a different file name.
  17. Optionally, select Save log to file and specify the location of the log file.
    Select this option if you might want to apply the same settings to a subsequent export.
  18. Click Finish.
